Link Building Methods
Although we believe you could achieve significant
results in your search engine positioning efforts for
your website through our service, we do not recommend
that you used it as the only source of backlinks. You
should try to obtain links from as many varied sources
as possible. This will make your links profile look more
natural and legitimate to the search engines.
Following are some of the additional ideas and places
where you can obtain backlinks to your site:
1. Create resource articles (eg. how to article,
product/service reviews, etc.) and distribute them to
article directories or web owners. Some of prominent
article directories include
EzineArticles,
GoArticles, etc.
2. Send out press release whenever you add a new
product or service to your site. Some of the well
established PR services such as
PRWeb
and
PRLeap can do this very effectively at a reasonable
cost.
3. If you sell products or services, try to offer an
affiliate program so your affiliates will link to your
site. When done correctly, this could generate a lot of
backlinks for you without any cost.
4. Submit your site to free and paid directories. Be
sure to do your research before spending hours doing
this. Many directories used indirect or dynamic links
which will not benefit you, even for the paid
directories. The focus here should be more on quality
rather than quantity of the directory links.
5. Consider exchanging articles with other websites
which belonged to the same topic as yours. Such articles
could be linked to your subpages as well. This is called
deep linking and can work very well if the site posting
your articles has good reputation and page rank.
6. If your friends or family members have their own
web site or blog, ask them to link to your site. It may
not be a lot of them, but every bit counts.
7. Find out if there are any non-profit organizations
relevant to your website, and ask if you could sponsor
them a small amount of money. Some of them do ask for it
on their website and they could post a link to you as
sponsor.
8. Add a tagging button for visitors to tag your site
easily to social bookmarking sites such as Del.icio.us,
Digg, StumbleUpon, etc. You can find a free service that
offer this option at
http://www.addthis.com.
9. If you sell a particular brand of product or
service, ask your supplier/manufacturer if they would be
willing to provide a link to you from their website.
10. Participate in forums and use your link in the
signature area in your postings. Do note that some forum
administrator may use "nofollow" tag on your link but
human viewers may still get to your site through those
links. Just remember to NEVER spam a forum just for the
sake of creating links.
11. Find popular bogs that are relevant to your site,
and post comments on these blogs. Once again, do not
post spam comments, or you will get some nasty response!
12. Create a page on
Squidoo
or
Hubpages to introduce your website and the content,
product or service you offer. If enough people shows
interest interest in your page, you may get a lot of
visitors from it.
By utilizing the above methods, you would be getting
more variety of links to your site. This is a
recommended approach rather than depending on just a
single source of backlinks.
